As its name suggests, the Democratic Republic of New Eden is a hellish theocratic tyranny. The Edenites control around sixty worlds, all heavily garrisoned and protected from vice by the vicelike grip of the Sacred Police.
The Edenites continue to follow the cult known as the Brotherhood of the Great Annihilator, and have pledged to purge the rest of the galaxy of sin, heresy and smiling. Over recent years Edenite spending on public works has dwindled from nearly nothing to nil in order to fund various armaments projects.
We are a tad concerned about the growing friendship between the Ghast Empire and the New Eden: reports suggest a recent meeting between Ghast Commander 462 and Captain John Gilead of Eden, a man our agent describes as "a dangerous, self-righteous braggart with some very unpleasant hobbies".
